Should welfare checks be written out the same as WIC?
I was having a discussion tonight with family about the types of food some people spend their welfare (americans taxpayers) money on. I always thought welfare should be just like WIC. You are allowed certain items only and a certain amount each month. For example; 20 gallons of milk, 4 jars of peanut er, 8 dozen eggs, so much fresh fruit, etc., per month. This way the children would be eating healthy foods instead of prepackaged, high sodium, junk. I was curious what everyone else thought? Is there a reason why they are different?
