Does my daughter have dyslexia?
If you are truly concerned, I would ask her school's Child Study Team to evaluate her for a learning disability which could include dyslexia. If they find a discrepancy between her IQ and her actual performance, she may be clified as in need of special services which would help her to deal with the problems she is having. Although special education is often looked down upon due to the labels that are often created by others, it is very important to have your child be an integral part of this process so as to educate them as much as possible in order for them to become self-advocates. As a special education teacher, I have seen this in several students with dyslexia. Reversals are common for people with dyslexia, as is difficulty with spelling. What you have to realize is that dyslexia affects how a person actually sees writing. This is probably why she is unable to choose the correct option in spell check. I hope you find this information helpful.
