Are Fox News and Rush Limbaugh basically "cults" brainwashing Americans?

Rupert Murdoch owns so much of the media and Rush is paid over 200 million for his "thoughts"..like calling Obama the Messiah etc. people are "ditto heads" and very mean spirited. Seems very cultish to me. Brainwashing people to believe things in a certain way. I watched this doentary on Fox TV and Murdoch's power. Just wondering if anyone thinks people are just being brainwashed. My whole family listens to them and are so limited in their thinking. My sister was convinced that Barack is a Muslim etc. I think it is true, they are being brainwashed. Thank you for your answers.
